Golden Police Blotter: $500 cash stolen

$500 cash stolen An officer went to the 600 block of Entrada Drive at noon on June 21 on a burglary report. A couple said they sold a pool table to an elderly man on June 20 and he paid them $500 in cash. The husband said he left the cash on the kitchen counter. The following morning he and his wife thought the other had put the money away, but when they discovered that wasn't the case, they searched the house before calling police. The man said the garage door was left open. When the officer and the man checked the garage, a 17-year-old neighbor came over and said he came outside during the night because he heard a car engine running during the night. When he walked outside, the car drove away. When he noticed the neighbor's garage door open, he walked toward the garage and noticed the owner's Jeep door was open. he walked toward the garage,and suddenly a man dressed in all black ran out of the garage and headed south on Entrada out. He couldn't tell anything more about the suspect, but closed the Jeep door and went back home.The officer was unable to lift prints from the owner's Jeep door handle. No further information was available. FRIEND GETS MANNERS LESSON On June 21 an officer went to the 1100 block of Ninth Street on a trespassing call. A 48-year-old woman said she was sleeping earlier in the day when a 58-year-old man friend entered her house. She did not want to pursue charges but wanted to talk to an officer so the man would hear from police that it is not OK to enter her house without permission, because she said he had done this before. In this instance, she said he came to get his phone charger. The officer contacted the man at his residence on the 700 block of Illinois Street. He said he and the woman were friends and when he went to her house he walked upstairs to get his phone charge and never touched her. He said he was not trying to scare her. The officer explained it was illegal to enter her house without permission. He said it would not happen again. OFFICER ASSISTS JEFFCO An officer went to the area of 44th Avenue and McIntyre Street at 2:26 a.m. June 23 on an assist to Jefferson County Sheriff's Office on a report of a suspect with a gun. The next dispatch call said a man was at a house on the 15000 block of Arapahoe Street. The officer was told to take up a perimeter position at West 44th and Loveland streets. He maintained his position until he was released by Jeffco at 3:51 a.m. No encounters occurred with anyone with a weapon. MEN TOLD TO GET THEIR STUFF OUT An officer went to the 1400 block of Ulysses Street on a civil standby call at 2:10 p.m. June 21. He contacted a 22-year-old man a 49-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman. The men were told that had a short time to remove all their items from the home and if there were any disputes, the items would be left behind. The items were removed without incident.
