SOFT AIR GUNS MISTAKEN FOR REAL THING
Two officers were called to the 1100 block of Golden Circle on a suspicious incident at 12:30 p.m. June 28. While en route, dispatch advised the reporting party was hearing rapid gunfire in the area. The officers saw two men standing near a pond, one with what looked like a rifle. The other man had something in his hands. The officer removed his gun from his holster and identified himself, then told the 18-year-old men to put their hands in the air. They complied. Two other men were found across the pond. All the men were in possession of air soft guns and had been playing a game of air soft around the pond. The apologized for alarming anyone and were warned to play during the day when they could be seen by their neighbors.
PAINKILLERS STOLEN FROM PHARMACY
The pharmacy manager Safeway, 1701 Jackson St., reported a theft to police June 25. She said sometime between May 7 and June 16 an unknown suspect stole a bottle of Norco, which is 10 mg of hydrocodone and 325 mg of acetaminophen. The bottle contained 100 pills valued at $137.77. The pharmacy manager said all the technicians who have worked in the store so not have access to the drugs, however due to staffing shortages, temporary technicians had been hired from other stores. She said and there is no surveillance system in place at the pharmacy, but said she would look at the schedule and compile a list of employees who worked during that time period.
SHOPLIFTER HYSTERICAL
On June 25, an officer went to King Soopers, 17171 S. Golden Road on a shoplifting incident. Store personnel told police a 44-year-old woman wearing an ankle bracelet took $5 worth of items from the store. The store employees said the woman was cooperative, but hysterical and had two small girls with her. The store did not wish to pursue charges.
HUSBAND CLAIMS WIFE TAKING HIS THINGS
Police contacted a 41-year-old woman on the 300 block of Canyon Point Circle at 5:12 p.m. June 27. She said her 37-year-old husband had violated his restraining order by stopping directly in front of the house and walking to the front door. She said he accused her of stealing all of his possessions and left the scene. She did not have any witnesses. When the officer explained to her he could not arrest the man, she said, "I knew you guys couldn't do anything anyway." The husband said he texted her from blocks away when he saw a moving van leave the house. He had a friend with him to verify his story.
