Golden Police blotter: Fight ends in handcuffs

FIGHT ENDS IN HANDCUFFS
On July 25 at 8:01 p.m. police were called on a report of a fight in progress at the Buffalo Rose Saloon, 1119 Washington Ave. The original dispatch reported at least 15 people were involved. Police talked to a 28-year-old man from Denver who had been escorted out of the establishment, at which time he allegedly spit on a woman and punched one fo the staff members. The man showed signs of intoxication and was put in handcuffs. It was later decided to release him to a sober party. The bar did not wish to pursue charges.

NOISE COMPLAINT MADE
On July 27 at 11:22 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 450 block of Golden Circle on a noise complaint. The reporting party said there were several juveniles in the area tampering with a portable toilet and being extremely loud. A check of the area met with no results.

MAN LEAVES KOH'S WITHOUT PAYING
On July 29 an officer was dispatched to Kohl's, 16700 W. Colfax Ave. The loss prevention specialist said a cashier had called him to let him know a man ran out fo the store with a bag full of merchandise. The video surveillance tape showed a black and gold Infiniti SUV leaving the parking lot. At the exit, a man jumped out of some bushes and got into the vehicle. He was holding a Kohl's black mesh bag and it appeared to be full. The vehicle turned east and pulled into the Staples parking lot, turned around and left the area. It was too far away to get the plate number. Records at other metro area agencies were checked on a partial plate search which turned up one vehicle of interest. When checked, it did not have the gold trim of the car described.

LIQUOR STORE REPORTS BAD IDS
On July 25 at 2:30 p.m., an officer went to Golden Liquors, 601 13th St. and spoke to the owner who said two people came into the store the day before and on July 25 and presented fraudulent ID cards while trying to purchase liquor. The address on one turned out to be that of a construction company, not a residence. A check came back with no records found. The IDs were taken into evidence.

WALLET STOLEN AT KOHL'S
On July 26 at 6 p.m., an officer was asked to call a victim of a theft at Kohl's, 16800 W. Colfax Ave. A 45-year-old woman said her wallet was stolen when she set a bag down and forgot about it. When she went back to get it less than five minutes later, the wallet was missing from the inside of the bag, but everything else was there. She said she contacted a manager, but they were unable to find the red, square wallet, that contained her driver's license, social security card credit cards, an insurance card and registration for her vehicle. She said she had canceled all the credit cards, but was concerned about the social security card. No suspect information was available.
