Golden Police blotter: Thief takes purse

HELPFUL THIEF TAKES PURSE

On Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. an officer responded to the King Soopers, 17171 S. Golden Road in Golden in reference to a first degree criminal trespass. A woman said she was lading her groceries into her car in the parking lot. A man opened the front passenger door and told her she had left the hatchback door open. She got out of the car to check the hatch back and when she got back in the car her purse was gone. She described the man as as one with a stocky build and dark hair. She thought he left in a gray medium sized car. Her purse had case and credit cards and a cell phone. The store surveillance camera panned the parking lot and the car that drove up beside the woman but no identifications were made. The photo was placed into evidence.

MISSING HANDGUN REPORTED

On Aug. 4 at 2:40 p.m., an officer went to the 768 Ridge Road in Golden. The resident said a handgun was missing from the home and she thought someone had been sleeping in a spare bedroom. Because she had been on vacation and other family members had been at the house intermittently, she didn't have an idea of who might have taken the gun. She said she knew someone had slept in the bed because she is meticulous about making the bed and it was not normal.
