Stolen truck found at car wash
On Sept. 7 an officer went to A Better Carwash, 730 Heritage Road in Golden. A Chebvy pickup with Colorado plates was parked in one of the stalls on the north end of the parking lot. After running the plate through the system, it was verified that the vehicle was stolen in Blackhawk. The officer called the registered owner of the truck and it was released to him.
Alleged solicitors looking for shower
Officers were dispatched to the Dakota Ridge RV Park, 17800 W. Colfax Ave., in Golden on Sept. 7. Dispatch said a caller reported individuals walking around the park asking for money. The officers asked residents and the consensus was that the pair was asking about beig able to use the showers in the RV park. An officer surveyed the area on foot and when he got to the shower area, a woman started walking quickly in the other direction. She complied with his request to come back. She said she and her companion were camping out on Rooney Road and looking for a place to take a shower. The couple worked as tree trimmers in Texas and were looking for work. They said they would be moving on to another RV park. No charges were pursued.
Shopper advised to buy elsewhere
An officer was dispatched to King Soopers, 17171 S. Golden Road in Golden on a report of a fight between two men. An officer stopped one of the men as he was leaving. The man said the "greeter guy" was constantly harassing his wife when she came to the store and he had filed reports about it previously. The husband said when he and his wife came in the store on Sept. 6 the "greeter guy" said something under his breath and the husband said he "lost it" and pushed the man. The wife said when she shops alone the man stares at her. The officer talked to the so-called greeter guy, who said he had not spoken with the woman and that she gave him her phone number, but he never called her. The officer advised the couple to avoid shopping at the store.
