Shoplifters arrested


Shoplifters arrested
A 39-year-old man and his 22 year-old female companion were arrested for shoplifting at Safeway, 1701 Jackson St. on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. by Golden Police. They also were given charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

Off leash action nets summons
A 54-year-old woman was issued a summons Sept. 8 by Golden Police at her residence on the 2800 block of Sunset Drive in Golden. after she walked away from Jefferson County Open Space Rangers and ignored the leash laws in an open space area. She was issued a summons for leash violation and an obstruction charge.

Golf equipment stolen
Golden police responded to the 17200 block of Rim Rock Drive in Golden on Sept. 18 at 7:30 a.m. A woman said her husband set his golf clubs outside the garage expecting to be picked up for a golf outing. He went inside briefly, but when he returned the golf bag and clubs were missing. The estimated value of the items was $2,535.

Museum sign vandalized
An employee of the Clear Creek Living History Museum, 1020 11th St., Golden, reported that one of the signs had been vandalized with spray paint. A Golden police officer and the employee walked through the grounds on Sept. 18, but did not find any other instances of vandalism. The employee had no suspects.

Street lights damaged
A group of six juveniles were reported damaging walkway lights between a building at 660 11th Street and Clear Creek. A Golden Police officer checked the area, but was unable to locate anyone. The reporting part said he saw a group of kids walking on the path, but could not give an approxinmate age. The man said one of the juveniles had a skeateboard and when he walked on the path he banged it on top of the lights. He said he called police about one minute after the incident occurred.

Vehicle entered, items stolen
A Golden Police officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Golden Eagle Circle, Golden on Sept. 22 at 8:29 a.m. The homeowner said someone entered the garage during the night. The woman said her husband forgot to close the door the night before and when she went into the garage that morning, the door of their Lexus was open. The door to their Subaru also was ajar. When she checked her vehicle she found papers scattered across the seat. An iPod and keys and the remote lock control were missing.
