The Jefferson County Board of Education has declared a vacancy on its board in the wake of the resignation of member Vince Chowdury. The board will be taking applications for the Director District 5 position which represents the Columbine, Chatfield and Dakota Ridge areas of JeffersonCounty.

Interested residents of JeffersonCounty have until close of business on Sept. 3, to submit a letter of interest, resume and date of birth to the Board of Education. The vacancy must be filled within 60 days or by Oct. 20, 2008.
