Pedestrian struck on Washington Avenue in Golden


Pedestrian hit by pick-up truck

On Dec. 17, 2009 at about 7:30 p.m. Golden Police Officers responded to a traffic accident in the 500 block of Washington Ave. The accident occurred when a pedestrian was crossing Washington Avenue and was hit by a red Ford F-250 truck, which was traveling southbound.

The pedestrian, a 56-year-old male from Golden, was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

The driver, 38-year-old Troy Cooperman from Arvada, was arrested for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

Cooperman was released from the police department pending a filing decision from the District Attorney's Office. Additional charges may be requested based on information discovered during the ongoing investigation, which could include Vehicular Assault (felony).
