Jefferson County will roll out a new version of its highly popular
Nonresidential Vacancy Inventory Database on September 24, 2008
. As part of the new update, the county has changed the name of the database to reflect new features.
The
Commercial/Industrial Database Program or
CIDPro includes more features and allows users to search for properties that have existing buildings on them. This database will still allow users to search for vacant commercial and industrial lands in unincorporated Jefferson County, but will also allow users to search by building type, and even by building square footage.
CIDPro allows users to view a graphic map with additional layered information pertaining to service districts, hazards, surrounding zoning and active permits, to name just a few of a long list of searchable features. Attached maps related to property results include surrounding zoning, review times for relevant development applications and specifics associated with location and street access to the subject property. Previous features, including the ability to search geographically within the county still exists. Jefferson County was the first county in the state to provide this easy-to-use service.
The county continues to refine and improve its search engines. "We want interested citizens to have access to a wide range of services and believe this update will be a useful improvement," said Tim Carl, Jefferson County Development & Transportation Director.
In addition to the searchable vacant lands in unincorporated Jefferson County, users will have full access to lands zoned industrially (I-1, I-2, I-3 and I-4) and to those with commercial designations (C-1, C-2). Later this year, Jefferson County plans to add properties with a CD (Corridor District) designation to the search program, and in 2009, properties zoned PD (Planned Development) with existing buildings will be added.
