Be part of the nation's largest suicide prevention fundraiser and one of the marquee community events in Jeffco!
The Second Wind Fund is now accepting corporate sponsors, faith partners, prize and product donors, volunteers for the annual Walk/Run/Ride on September 21. Last year's event attracted 2,600 participants, with a plan for 3,000 plus this year.
This event is much more than a walk/run/ride. For a nominal registration fee ($10 for youth and $25 for adults, $40 in pledges raised waives registration fee), all participants receive a full lunch (barbeque, tacos from Jose O'Shea's, and sandwiches from Atlanta Bread Company), a free concert by
Nina Storey
, a free T-shirt, kids' activities, goody bags, and massages.
A commemorative dove release will also be presented. The day also includes speakers, including Lakewood Mayor
Bob Murphy
, Jeffco Schools Superintendent Dr.
Cindy Stevenson
, and Colorado Speaker of the House
Andrew Romanof
f. Visit www.thesecondwindfund.org to register for the event.
Corporate sponsors receive significant recognition through our brochures, website, race bibs, booths, press releases, social functions, and more.
The Second Wind Fund, a local 501(c)3 non-profit, provides mental health counseling for uninsured or underinsured youth at-risk for suicide. 1,200 referrals have been approved in the last five plus years, including over 500 Jeffco kids. Students have been referred from over 250 schools throughout the Denver metro area, and as a result, youth suicide in Jefferson County has been reduced.
For more information about the Second Wind Fund, please visit the website at www.thesecondwindfund.org or call 303-988-2645.
