For the past several months, thousands of Jefferson County singles, couples and families have come to the Action Center in need. While food is a staple product given out by the Action Center, personal care items are equally important. These personal care items have been given out at record levels and are now in short supply.

Personal care items are important because they help people maintain proper hygiene. When hygiene is not kept up, people are more likely to become sick, have difficulty finding employment and their personal dignity suffers. These items are a critical part of Jeffco Action Center's prevention services that help those near poverty avoid falling deeper into a devastating cycle of poverty. Personal items needed included shampoo, soap, toothpaste, tooth brushes, toilet paper, laundry detergent and lotion.
