Postal service employee not injured in collision


State Patrol investigators have determined that a U.S. Postal Service mail
truck driven by Maria Dawson age 39 of Lakewood, CO was traveling westbound
on W. 32nd Ave. when it the 2001 Ford Utilimaster mail truck started
veering counter clockwise, corrected and veered clockwise.

The truck traveled into the eastbound lane where it struck the bicycle rider who was traveling eastbound on W. 32nd Ave. After the truck struck the rider it
continued to veer out of control, rolled over and slid on its left side and
off the north side of the road to final rest.

The bicycle rider has been identified as Shahram Moghadamnia age 53 of
Lakewood, CO. Moghadamnia was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Moghadamnia was wearing a bicycle helmet.

Dawson was not injured.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Alcohol or drugs are
not suspected as a factor.
