The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has completed a three-mile asphalt resurfacing project on Colfax Avenue (US 40) between Kipling Street and Sheridan Boulevard.
This segment of Colfax Avenue carries approximately 27,800 vehicles a day and was in poor condition. The rotomilling and asphalt paving improves the condition of the road and helps extend the life of the pavement. In addition to paving, the project repaired and replaced concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk
Asphalt Paving Co. of Golden, CO was the contractor for this $4.7 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) project.
In all, Colorado will receive more than $400 million for transportation projects and $103 million for transit projects. For more information about how Colorado is putting the Recovery Act to work, visit
