Our son was so excited about his first day of school. This was all he talked about the days and night before. He was such a shatter box. He and his father laid out his clothes and talked about school and the bus. He knew my husband was going to cry and told him "I'll be okay and I'll think about you". My husband has cried at all of the goodbye's. Remember according to Jeffco Human services he's not a father and has no bond with this children.
My husband walked him to the bus and then we got in the van to go meet with the other parents and first time students in the gym.
"I walked in and as I scanned across the gym, you could hear and see the hustle and business of the kids parents and teachers. Then as I looked for my son, I saw him there siting with his head down and this blank non-expressive look on his face, he was focused on a wallet attached to his back pack, I knew what it was, this is how he copes with anxiety and separation.
I teared up and looked over at my wife and she was fighting the tears to, I whispered to her "and Jefferson County Human Services wonders why I am in this for the long haul, they messed up our children."
This first day of kindergarten was stolen from us, evil through people still working its course in our family.
I remember when my husband was trying to explain to the county and its workers and contracted counselors how this will mess our son up, the case worker CHERYL Hyink said " ...is the youngest and lest affected by the situation,he is off to himself, at that time our son was around 18months old. I remember my husband saying "that's detachment disorder dummy!!" yes she was smart enough to put that in her case notes that we now have. She is still employed there.
