Tip-off tournament a sucess

The Evergreen sixth-grade Gold Crown Cougar's basketball team began the 2007 season by winning the Green Mountain Tip-Off Tournament pre-season invitational tournament.

The recently formed Evergreen team used tenacious defense, awesome rebounding, and strong drives to the basket to cinch the win against a previously unbeaten Elizabeth team.

Changing leads numerous times, the excitingly close game wasn't decided until the final minutes when the Cougars hit key fouled shots to win by the score of 28 - 23. This explosive team is off to a great start and looking forward to a strong year. The tournament was held at the Gold Crown facility in Lakewood on Nov. 2 and 3.
