Times are a changin'...
Very interesting story. I too am a Chase customer and have noticed that my branch here in Golden gives deposit slips in English and Spanish. I grabbed a spanish slip without noticing until I started filling it out. No big deal for me having lived in Bolivia for over three years.
But I imagine the demographics in Commerce City are quite different than those in my home town of Golden. Golden is very much white whereas Commerce City must have quite a bit more diversity, including many latinos. This may be a contributing factor in what is seen as more Spanish than English there.
This topic ultimately leads to the great debate on immigration in the US. It's a touchy subject, for certain. But something we need to deal with rather than ignore, as our government largely does currently.
Do we accept that there are many illegal immigrants and help integrate them into our culture -- teach them English? Or do we try to continue to wall ourselves off from the rest of the world and keep them out?

Jason the problem I see is that all too many Spanish speakers refuse to integrate into American society. They refuse to learn English, and make no attempt to become English speakers. I have seen this on jobs where ESL was offered, and not one took that opportunity. Immigration is a very hot topic, and we definitely need to address it. But the effort needs to go both ways. Those coming to America need to try to assimilate, just as we need to try to be welcoming. But when I don’t speak their language, and they refuse to speak in English, it gets pretty hard to be inclusive.
