Newly elected Golden councilwoman thanks voters
Contributed by: Marjorie Sloan on 11/18/2007

Now that the hullabaloo of Golden's city election has subsided, I owe a thank you to all the Golden voters who participated in our democratic process. Whilecampaigning for the position of district-one councilor, I learned that Golden residents are truly the salt of the earth.

A smaller group of people deserve a special thank you -- the candidates in this year's election. Without exception, they conducted thoughtful, issue-centered campaigns. In particular, Frank Oldham and Lynne Tempeiro can be proud of their dignified races for district-one councilor. I know Lynne will be gracious in sharing the knowledge she accumulated during her four years of service to the city.

I could not have won the election without the help of many supporters. And I cannot be an informed councilor without the aid of all the residents, whether they voted for me or not.

I will need to hear your thoughts on the issues that confront our city. Please contact me through the city website (ci.golden.co.us), my home e-mail Marjorie_Sloan@comcast.net or my home telephone 303-279-0088.

Together, we can turn your good ideas into action items. I look forward to representing district one on Golden City Council.
