Avalanche Fan Wants to Go Home
Contributed by: Curtis Cooper on 11/3/2005

Editor's note: YourHub.com asked Avalanche fans "Why should you and 15 of your closest friends deserve to win a suite?" Here is what one fan wrote.

I moved to Colorado in 1973 and moved to Saudi Arabia in 1979 for what was supposed to be a 2-year assignment. Well, my family got stuck in Washington, D.C. after that, and I never returned to Colorado. Since then, I have been through Kentucky, Michigan, Massachusetts, and now North Carolina. My brother and I are diehard Broncos and Colorado fans, and will one day return. We didn't really know what hockey was in 1979 around the time the Rockies NHL team was moving out. It wasn't until I moved to Michigan in 1993 that I became a big time hockey fan. There was no Colorado NHL team, so I picked the now dreaded Detroit Red Wings. I was a Red Wings junkie watching nearly every game. When Colorado bought Quebec's team and created the Avalanche, I knew I had a new team to root for. My brother and I, now in North Carolina and Virginia, watch every game we can, and we have never seen the Avalanche play. Happy to see them back on the ice, we and our families would LOVE to return to Colorado to watch our beloved Avalanche.
