Nick Kubala preseason defensive player


GOLDEN - The Colorado School of Mines men's soccer team was picked
to finish third in 2007 in the conference, according to The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced Aug. 17 by the RMAC.

Senior defender Nick Kubala was picked as the 2007 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year along with being named to the Preseason All-RMAC team. Senior Craig Thompson was a unanimous decision as he too was named to the Preseason All-RMAC team.

The Orediggers were picked to finish third in the Conference behind Metro State and Fort Lewis. Metro was picked to win the RMAC with the Fort Lewis Skyhawks finishing second. CSU-Pueblo, Regis, UC-Colorado Springs, Mesa State and Colorado Christian rounded out the eight team conference poll. Mines finished third last season in the RMAC with a 9-3 conference record and 13-7-1 overall record.
