Chatfield grad Moore CSM diver of week


Dennis and Moore repeat as RMAC Divers of the Week

Colorado School of Mines' Jacob Dole was the RMAC Men's swimmer of the week. Jesse Dennis and Sarah Moore have been named the RMAC men's and women's Diver of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Moore, a freshman from Littleton, Colo. (Chatfield H.S.) established three CSM school records at the Rocky Mountain Invitational on her way to qualifying for the NCAA Championships in just her second collegiate meet. On Friday, Moore won the 1-meter event and the 3-meter event in the six-dive format. Moore scored 274.25 on the 3-meter board to establish a new CSM record. On Oct. 17, Moore once again won both the 1-meter (459.50) and 3-meter (512.45) event this time in the 11-dive format. Both scores broke the school record.

The Orediggers will competed against the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Morningside College (Iowa) on Oct. 24 in Kearney, Neb. at Cushing Pool.
Dole, a freshman from Corbin, Ky. (Country Day School), posted individual first-place finishes in three events and helped two relay teams win events as the anchor leg at the Rocky Mountain Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16th and 17th. On Friday, Dole won the 50 freestyle (21.86) and the 100 backstroke (54.11) and helped the 400 medley relay to a first-place finish (3:38.48). On Saturday, Dole won the 100 freestyle (47.44) and was part of the 200 medley relay (1:40.98) that finished first while posting a runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle (1:30.61).

Dennis, a sophomore from Kirkland, Ariz. (Yavapi C.C.), won the 1-meter and 3-meter event in both the 6-dive (276.65 and 231.50) and 11-dive (467.20 and 497.35) format at the Rocky Mountain Invitational last weekend at the CSM Natatorium. Dennis' scores helped him to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

The 2009-10 RMAC Pre-Season Men's Diver of the Year, Dennis was selected as the Men's Diver of the Year at the conclusion of the 2008-09 season winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter events at the 2009 RMAC Championships.
