GHS baseball team graduates and finishes season

In a special graduation ceremony at 7:30 a.m. May 10 at Brooks Field, members of the Golden High School baseball team received their diplomas just in time to travel to All Star Park in Lakewood for what would turn out to be the final game of their season.

Seniors Tyler Babkiewich, Anthony Carbone, Tommy Cowden, Tony DeCarlo, Danny Dusdal, Marshall Gillespie, Kyle McKendry, Derek Romero and Kyle Seery led their team this year to an impressive 7-2 season and a state championship series appearance after beating Widefield and Northridge in the district tournament on May 3 in Pueblo.

Despite their best efforts, Golden High's season ended with a loss to Fossil Ridge on graduation day.
