Demons shine at Jeffco Invitational Track Meet

Golden High's boys and girls track team notched first or second place finishes in 12 events at the Jeffco Invitational track meet held April 25, 2006, at Jeffco Stadium. Other schools participating in the meet were D'Evelyn, Conifer, Alameda, and Ralston Valley. A standout for Golden was Tawny Drexler, shown winning the 200 m dash in theaccompanying photo, who also competed on the winning 4X100 m relay team, and came in second in the high jump. On the boys side, Severin Campbell won the 100 m, was second in the 200 m, and ran an important leg of the 800 m relay. In that relay, Sean Stokes of Golden ran the anchor leg and nearly pulled out a victory by making up about 20 of the 21 m gap that existed at the start of his leg. The next meet for Golden is the Jeffco League Championship at Jeffco Stadium on May 4.
