The State Games of America Are Back!


Colorado Springs will host the 2009 State Games of America, July 30-August 2, and every resident of Colorado can compete for a medal and be part of Team Colorado as its welcomes 10,000 athletes from 47 states.

College, high school, Masters, Elite and beginner athletes all have divisions to compete in for gold, silver and bronze medals.

You can register now at www.stategames.org and choose from among 31 sports at 22 sites in the city. It's open to all ages and skill levels, so there's a sport for everybody in the entire family. BMX Racing and Open Water Swimming are the newest sports to be added this year.

Opening Ceremonies will take place July 30 at the World Arena, where Olympic wrestling gold medalist Henry Cejudo of Colorado Springs will finish a day-long torch run and light the Games' flame to open the event. Tickets for an evening of music, color, pageantry and the Parade of Athletes are just $10.00 and $5.00 and available at www.ticketswest.com.

The Colorado Springs Sports Corporation invites everybody to participate, compete and enjoy the nation's largest multi-sport event for amateur athletes of all ages and skill levels.
