Our team is a Jefferson County Baseball League team under the West Jeff
program. We are an 11 year old AAA baseball team. They play league games and
tournament games. We are called the Evergreen Outlaws when we play
tournament games and West Jeff Outlaws when we play league games. A team
cumulates points thru tournament play based on how the team placed. Also
they cumulate points where they place at the end of the league season. Based
on your total points you can get an invite to the State Tournament or by
winning tournaments. We won our first tournament May 5th and earned an
invitation to State which is held in Lakewood, June 29 - July 1. The last
tournament which I sent the article about was a tournament in which you
would get an invite to the USSSA World Series if you won, which we did. The
World Series will be held July 8-15 in Shawnee, Kansas which is a suburb of
Kansas City, Kansas. In the Bear Creek Memorial Day Tournament we played the
Arvada Rattlers and the Colorado Mavericks. We have played in 4 tournaments
so far.
We are 1st out of 58 teams in
Colorado! The rankings are done by the USSSA and their website www.USSSA,com
<
http://www.usssa,com/> is where everyone goes to keep up on how teams are
doing. Rankings can change week to week based on how a team does in
tournaments. We have fluctuated between the top 10 and are proud we are on
top this week! We are playing in a tournament this weekend called the South
Metro AAA Showdown. Hopefully we will come out a winner and keep our first
place ranking. We are also ranked 18th in our region which includes most of
the western US.
Eight out of the ten boys live in Evergreen and one lives in Conifer and we
live in Genesee.
