The Golden High School Lady Demons basketball team took a tumble in the state championship final four and falling to Broomfield March 12 at the CU event center, with a final score at 69-32.
Athletic Director
Steve Anderson said, "The girls varsity team has had an undefeated league schedule for the last five years. They are 45-0 in Jeffco league play and we look forward for years to come with many talented players coming up through the program."
Anderson said, " The defeat was a disappointment, but the girls are resilient."
Athletic secretary
Kathy Montgomery praised the team's efforts during the championship. She said, "They lost against the team that's probably going to take state."
Anderson said three seniors on the team made 1st team all conference:
Emily Wareham,
Samantha Neal and
Cassie Lambrecht. Lambrecht is up for a potential Colorado player of the year in 4A.
