Try a Different Sport -- Indoor Flag Football
Contributed by: Bill Stahl on 11/29/2006

It's open season on fun! i9 Sports is now accepting registrations for Youth Indoor Flag Football, which will begin January 13 . Registrations will be accepted until the deadline of Jan. 6. Games will be played on Sat. afternoons at the Golden Goal Sports Complex, 2650 Alkire St., near I-70 and Youngfield, Golden. Full program details and registration information can be found at www.i9sports.com or by calling 303-462-1520.

The program for boys and girls ages 6 to 14 welcomes all skills levels. "There are no tryouts and everyone is given the opportunity to make the most of his or her abilities," explained Bill Stahl, i9 Sports franchise owner.

We've heard horror stories lately about the bad behavior parents display at their kids' sporting events. They yell at their kids, they yell at the coach, and they yell at each other. i9 Sports created leagues of youth teams that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun. It has gained national recognition for its fresh approach to organized sports. Participants can expect professional management of all program details, certified officials at every game, round-the-clock access to league information, standings, and team news on the league's Web site, and most importantly, a program that places greater value on fun than the score.

"Nationwide, up to 50 percent of all kids that play sports drop out by age 12, because it's just not fun anymore," said i9 Sports founder Frank Fiume.
Aimee Spivey kept her son, Jake, out of sports until he was 8-years old, in part, because she was concerned about the competitive, negative behavior she saw. He started playing with an i9 team last year.

"He learned the fundamentals, which was important," said Mrs. Spivey. But what I enjoyed more about it was the fact that he came away with a sense of responsibility to teamwork and that other people were depending on him, and that was important."

i9 teams allow every player equal playing time. There are no tryouts. No fundraisers. And no parental politics. "People have been amazed at the organization, convenience, and fun of our programs," said Stahl. Our flag football rosters fill up quickly, so we encourage everyone who is interested to sign up immediately to secure a spot."
