Sonnier wins state gymnastics meet

Kelly Sonnier, of Arvada, captured the All-Around title at the CARA State Gymnastics Meet held at Overland High School onJuly 28. Kelly won with an overall score of 34.00; combining her scores from the balance beam, uneven bars, floor exercise and vault. Kelly competed at Level 5, in the 7- to 8-year-old division for the Fabulous Feet Explosion gymnastics team. Kelly's teammate, Lindsey Malone, earned first-place honors for the floor exercise in the 11- to 12-year-old division.

This is Kelly's second year on the team and last year she placed second in the Cara State Meet at Level 4. Besides gymnastics, Kelly also likes to ride her bike, play with her friends and drink chocolate milk. Kelly will be going into the fourth grade this year at Excel Academy Charter School.
