St. Mary's Academy with The Women's College of the University of Denver will present its ninth annual Leadership Conference for girls, grades 6-12, and their parents on
Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Charlotte S. Waisman, Ph.D., co-author of
Her Story: A Timeline of the Women Who Changed America, will present the keynote address from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Dr. Waisman's keynote address - "Dare To Dream" - will share valuable insights about the women and girls from
Her Story whose first accomplishments took place when they were pre-teens, teenagers, or very young adults. New this year, students from The Women's College are offering a "gallery walk" from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. entitled
Leading From Where You Are including images of women from Dr. Waisman's book. From 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. the girls will participate in panel discussions led by prominent local women and The Women's College students. Panel speakers will offer practical leadership advice that girls can apply immediately. Cost is $25 for students not currently attending St. Mary's Academy, purchased by October 16, $30 at the door. Over the last 25 years, Charlotte S. Waisman has advocated for women as a professor, political activist, keynote speaker, and expert witness. As a corporate leader and trainer, Waisman coauthored several books, including
