Applications for performing and teaching artists due October 26, 2009
DENVER - Think 360 Arts, the state's leading provider of arts education programs and services, is seeking artists statewide to apply for the Directory of Teaching Artists. Selected artists will be added to the Think 360 Arts online program catalog and will be eligible to conduct educational performances, workshops or residencies for Think 360 Arts in schools or community centers throughout Colorado. Artists of all disciplines, including architecture, landscape architecture, creative writing, dance, music, theatre, visual art, media arts, graphic design, and folk arts are encouraged to apply. Think 360 Arts is seeking a range of applicants, but has a higher need for artists that represent diverse cultures and languages, and artists that can serve middle and high school students.
The Directory lists professional teaching artists in Colorado who provide interactive arts experiences for PreK-12 students. Think 360 Arts staff members work closely with artists and educators to develop customized programs that enhance curriculum and meet educational goals. Currently, more than 125 artists on the roster are available for direct services to schools, libraries and community centers.
Think 360 Arts is conducting the statewide artist search in partnership with the Colorado Council on the Arts. All directory artists are required to undergo background checks and additional training to ensure the quality of programs and suitability of working with youth. Artists are reviewed by a panel of peers on two main criteria: artistic quality and educational appropriateness.
Applications for teaching artists are due Monday, Oct. 26. For more information about the call for artists or to access an application, visit
