Movie schedule changes for Flicks film series
Contributed by: Julie Patterson on 7/31/2007

One movie has changed and another has been rescheduled because of a prior rain cancellation in this summer's Aurora Credit Union Alliance Flicks on the 'FAX film series.

On Aug. 11, instead of "Mission: Impossible III," the animated movie "Open Season" (PG) will show on the outdoor screen at Fletcher Plaza in Aurora's East End Arts District.

The movie "Akeelah and the Bee" (PG), which was originally scheduled to air on July 7 but was canceled due to rain, will now show on Aug. 18.

The Aug. 4 movie "Nancy McPhee" (PG) will show this weekend as originally scheduled.

All movies at the Aurora Credit Union Alliance Flicks on the 'FAX film series begin at sunset on a customized outdoor movie screen.

Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and get there early to secure the best seat on the plaza and enjoy pre-show activities ranging from craft projects to trivia games. Refreshments will be sold on site. Visitors will not be permitted to bring alcohol or dogs to the event.

Fletcher Plaza is located adjacent to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Library/Municipal Services Center, 9898 E. Colfax Ave. between Havana and Yosemite streets. For more information, call 303-326-8FUN or visit auroragov.org/flicks.

Aurora Credit Union Alliance Flicks on the 'FAX, presented by the City of Aurora Cultural Services Division, is one of several festivals created to showcase the revitalization efforts under way in the East End Arts District, attract new visitors to this newly emerging arts district, and maximize opportunities for collaboration between local businesses and the City of Aurora.
