Greenwood Village Resident Kelsey Simms to attend University of Colorado at Boulder

Greenwood Village resident Kelsey Simms, daughter of Michelle and Michael Simms, graduated from Colorado Academy (CA) on Friday, June 5, 2009.

Kelsey has attended CA since Pre-Kindergarten and has earned honor roll every trimester in high school. She has had her poetry and creative writing published in local magazines and national books. English has always been her favorite academic class, especially creative writing.

An accomplished athlete, Kelsey has earned a total of eight varsity letters for field hockey, basketball, and soccer. She was named Field Hockey MVP at CA and also played field hockey for Futures competing at nationals. She plans to continue playing field hockey in college. She was recently namedthe recipient of the Bob and Pat Simms Alumni Athlete Award.

Kelsey was involved in clubs such as Yearbook, Bronco Wives Food Drive, and Box Tops for Education. She has served as publicity head for HOPE, a club that focuses on feeding and clothing disadvantaged families in the greater Denver area. During the summer Kelsey coached soccer and also participated in a volunteer service program in Fiji last summer.

This fall, Kelsey is looking forward to attending University of Colorado at Boulder to study communications with an emphasis on public relations and advertisement.
