Greenwood Village Resident Michael Shube to Attend Macalester College.

Greenwood Village resident Michael Shube, son of Mary Anne and Rick Shube, graduated from Colorado Academy (CA) on Friday, June 5, 2009.

Michael attended CA for all four years of his high school education. His academic interests include writing, literature and history.

Michael also developed an interest in theater while at CA, taking acting and theater as an academic subject throughout high school, and performing in more than 10 plays and two films as a member of the CA Thespian Troupe, including principal roles in "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare" and "Greater Tuna".

Michael was, also, a 3-season varsity athlete, contributing to CA's lacrosse, ice hockey and cross country teams. He was Co-Captain of the cross country team his senior year when they sprinted to top-ranked team and individual finishes at the Colorado State Championships last fall.

In addition to his involvement in theater, Michael is committed to his work for Amnesty International, environmental issues and the Building Bridges for Peace Program, a ground-breaking conflict resolution and peace institute with which he's been involved for the past two years.

This fall, Michael is looking forward to attending Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota where he plans to study English, history, foreign languages and international relations, with the goal of teaching internationally, as well as pursuing his interest in writing. He also plans to continue acting.
