Food, fun, run at Fitness Festival

The ninth annual First American State Bank Fitness Festival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Crescent Park in Greenwood Village (Belleview and DTC Boulevard). The Festival includes the Kaiser Permanente 5K run/walk, the 1-mile family walk, entertainment, food samplings from the best restaurants in the area, silent auction, prizes and lots of family fun. This year's Grand Marshal is Gold Crown Foundation CEO and former Denver Nugget, Bill Hanzlik.

Benefitting the Community Asset Project (CAP), a program of the Cherry Creek School District, the Festival has raised more than $500,000 to support CAP and its efforts to foster and develop skills for a "healthier lifestyle" as a deterrent to negative behavior such as alcohol, other drug use and violent behavior.
