The eighth annual First American State Bank Fitness Festival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008 beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Crescent Park in Greenwood Village (Belleview and DTC Boulevard). The Festival includes the Kaiser Permanente 5K run/walk and NEW 1-mile family walk, food samplings from fourteen of the top restaurants in the area, entertainment, silent auction, prizes and lots of family fun. This year's Grand Marshals are Tony Granato, Head Coach of the Colorado Avalanche, and former Denver Nugget and Cherry Creek High School graduate Mark Randall.
The event benefits the Community Asset Project (CAP), a partner with the Cherry Creek School District. During the past seven years, the Festival has raised more than $430,000 to support CAP in its efforts to foster and develop skills for a "healthier lifestyle" as a deterrent to negative behavior such as alcohol, other drug use and violent behavior.
Register on-line at www.fasbfitnessfestival.com or by obtaining a registration form from one of the following locations:
• First American State Bank, 8390 East Crescent Parkway in Englewood, or
• Runners Roost at 1685 S. Colorado Boulevard and 6554 S. Parker Road
• Running Wild at 1970 E. County Line Road
Entry fees are $15 for children 17 and younger and seniors 60+ prior to Race day and $20 on Race day; $27 for adults prior to Race day, and rise to $35 for those registering at the event. A special family 4-pack is available for $75, and includes registrations for two adults and two children. The family 4-pack is $100 on the day of the race. All registrants will receive a 2008 FASB Fitness Festival T-shirt, designed by local student, Ryan Hawley, as well as admittance into the post party featuring free food, live entertainment, a silent auction and giveaways.
