Students help to feed homeless children
Contributed by: Megan Galgano on 3/15/2006

Kids helping kids. That's what it is all about. Check out quartersforkids.org and learn how to get your school involved in helping feed breakfast to homeless kids in Denver.

Quarters for Kids is an organization where 100 percent of all money raised goes directly to providing breakfast to homeless children in Denver at the Samaritan House and Brandon Center. Have your school host a bake sale, a free throw contest, a crazy hat day, or some other fundraiser. Donate the money to Quarters for Kids and feel good about helping kids your age eat a healthy breakfast.

All schools are invited to send two students and one adult to a complimentary Victory Breakfast at Strings Restaurant on May 1, 2006. Local celebrities will be present to thank all who participated. Individuals can participate as well.

Contact Megan Galgano with any questions at mgalgano@msn.com . Quarters for Kids is a win/win situation where students learn about hunger in Denver and can feel good about taking a leadership role to do something to help.

Last year Denver area schools raised over $30,000! Help us increase that number this year since hunger and homelessness continue to increase in Denver. Encourage your schools to participate or come up with a fundraising idea on your own. Hungry kids thank you!

Megan Galgano is the Denver area school liaison for Quarters for Kids.
