CAR STOLEN WITH TOW TRUCKA woman told a Greenwood Village Police officer her car had been stolen from the parking lot at Benedicts restaurant, 8181 E. Arapahoe Road, at 1:17 p.m. July 9. The woman told the officer she locked the car and when she returned from having lunch, the car was gone. The manager of a nearby bakery told the officer one of his employees saw a tow truck tow the car from the parking lot. The tow truck had a drawing of a cactus on it, according to the employee. The officer could not locate a tow company with cactus in its name and the woman told the officer the car was paid off and had no liens against it.
CAR DAMAGED BY BACKHOE
A Greenwood Village Police officer was sent to South Dayton Court at 12:21 p.m. July 2 on a report of a traffic accident. A woman told the officer she works as a nanny at the address and parked her car on the street at about 7 a.m. The woman said she noticed that there was a construction crew working on the sidewalk near where she parked her car. At about noon, the nanny saw a large, yellow backhoe back into her car, damaging the trunk and right rear fender. The woman exchanged insurance information with the foreman.
