Incidents reported by Greenwood Village Police
TARGET STORE BURGLARY PROBED
Police investigated the break-in of a Target store, 6767 S. Clinton St., reported June 15 about 3:45 a.m. A manager said he arrived for work and noticed damage to the glass and entry doors. A later review of security video showed four men used a large rock to break through the front doors about 3:10 a.m., broke into electronics display cases and stole approximately $8,828 in merchandise they placed into backpacks before fleeing. Damage was estimated at $500. The investigation is continuing.
BUSINESSES BURGLARIZED
On June 13 about 5:39 a.m. police investigated burglaries at four businesses at 8575 E. Arapahoe Road and the theft of cash from cash registers at three of them. A witness described seeing a Hispanic male break into a Fantastic Sam's by breaking out door glass with a large rock. An adjacent business, Mayfair Cleaners, was also entered while a GNC store had damage to the front door but was not entered. Cash registers were opened in the two stores that were entered and cash stolen from the cash registers. Later, the owner of a nearby business, Cleaners by Nature, 7939 E. Arapahoe Road, reported a glass door was broken and cash taken from a cash register. The investigation is continuing.
BURGLAR SEE FLEEING FROM HOME
On June 5, about 10:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to a home on the 5300 block of South University Boulevard on report of a burglary. Members of South Metro Fire Rescue were at the home and saw a Hispanic male described as about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 220 pounds, run up an interior stairwell and then run out of the house and drive away in 1994 white Chevrolet pickup truck with a fiberglass topper. Investigators found ladders and a furniture dolly inside and discovered someone had cut copper plumbing and wiring inside the home. The investigation is continuing.
