Go behind-the-scenes for home decorating inspiration
How'd They Do That? A VIP Sneak Preview
July 25th at the 2008 Parade of Homes
"How'd They Do That?" is a special half-day opportunity for people to go behind-the-scenes, meet the Parade of Homes' interior designers, and learn first-hand about the design process for each of the homes.
This one-time only "insider" program is limited to the first 350 people who purchase tickets. The event takes place in the Parade homes on Friday, July 25 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $50 per person and includes a VIP continental breakfast from 8-9:30 a.m. Tickets are available online at www.hbadenver.com/VIP.
This year's Parade of Homes at Solterra in Lakewood features eight extraordinary custom homes inspired by the hilltowns of Tuscany and France. Solterra is a half-mile east of C-470 and the new Alameda Parkway.
"According to our research, the number one reason people attend the Parade of Homes is to see the latest in decorating ideas. This special event gives visitors the opportunity to talk with interior decorators and learn about the inspiration for the design theme and plan, and the choices made for colors, fabrics, furniture and accessories," said Vicki Pelletier, vice president of operations for the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver (HBA). The HBA annually produces the Parade of Homes.
The interior designers participating in the event are:
· Diann Sill Design for 9 One 5 Custom Homes
· JJ Interiors for Ades Design Builders
· Amirob & Associates for Brookline Homes
· Terra Verde Architects and Carolyne Evans for Element Custom Builders
· Tre Bella Designs for Gregg Design Custom Builders
· Comstock Design for Wall Custom Homes
· Virtu Designs for Waterstone Homes Colorado
About the 2008 Parade of Homes
* The 2008 Parade of Homes is hosted by Solterra, a new master-planned community developed by Carma. The site overlooks the Rooney Valley, Red Rocks Park and foothills. Solterra is a half-mile east of C-470 and Alameda Parkway in Lakewood.
* Celebrating its 23rd anniversary, the Parade features eight new luxury custom homes. It opens July 26 and runs through Labor Day (September 1). More than 90,000 visitors are expected to attend the Parade's five-week run.
* The Parade is considered to be the largest walking tour of luxury custom homes in the U.S. and demonstrates the latest in decorating, construction technologies, architectural and interior design, landscaping, and energy efficient concepts.
* The homes range in size from 5,494 to 8,800 sq. ft. and are priced from $1.95 million to under $2.5 million.
* The homes are designed and built by HBA member companies and all homes are required to meet Built Green® Colorado standards which encourage home builders to use technologies, products and practices that result in homes that are better built and better for the environment.
* The Parade of Homes is open daily: Mondays - Fridays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Ticket sales end one hour before closing.
* Tickets are $12 for adults; $8 for seniors 65+; $8 for children 6-17; and free for children 5 and under.
* A portion of the proceeds from the Parade will benefit the Home Builders Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the HBA, which helps people with home enhancements such as wheelchair ramps, accessible entry-points and modified appliances and amenities. The Foundation partners with building industry suppliers, homebuilders, subcontractors and local volunteers to turn these much needed wishes into reality.
* The Parade is sponsored by Furniture Row Shopping Center® and Stevinson Lexus of Lakewood in association with the City of Lakewood, Built Green® Colorado, ColoradoNewHomes.com, 9NEWS, The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News, Comcast Corporation, Renewal by Andersen and State Farm Insurance are supporting sponsors. Grand Lodge on Peak 7, HealthStyles Exercise Equipment, Red Rocks Country Club, Vibrant Solar, and ReLogic, the smart way to do real estate, are official suppliers of the Parade of Homes.
