Cherry Creek HS sophomore VB team sweeps

Cherry Creek High School hosted the Sophomore Volleyball Tournament on Oct. 21. In addition to Cherry Creek, some of the other area high school Sophomore Teams that competed were: Boulder High School, Regis High School, Wheatridge High School, Douglas County High School, Dakota Ridge High School and last but not least Chapparal High School. Competition was intense all day long. In the end, the Creek Sophomore Team won all their matches and moved on to face Chapparal's Sophomore Team in the Championship Match.

Chapparal handily won the first game of the match 25-15. In the second game of the match, although Chapparal immediately pulled ahead 6-4 they were soon behind 15-6 after 11 unanswered serves by Creek. Even with a valiant effort by Chapparal, Creek persevered and won the second game 25-15. The play of the third game was intense, and the crowd for both teams was deafening. But in the end Creek triumphed, 15-13 for the Tournament Championship!

Overall the Creek Sophomore Team finished their season with a 6-1 League and 17-2 Record. Congratulations to all players: Allison Ashburn, Ashley Beauprez, Christina Bograkos, Liz Bowling, Kat Davis, Katie Ganney, Kaitlin Hunter, Shannon Pratt, Kelley Sedlacek, Megan Simenson, and Kandace Thomas. The Sophomore Team this year was coached by Brynn Reevie and Assistant Coach Joan Dalton.
