A political pundit said most of us live life between the 40 yard lines. I'm one of them. Most of the time. Sometimes I'm right of center, sometimes the other way around.

Clowns to the left, Jokers to the right ...

... I am stuck in the middle with you.

As a bit of a preface before taking a shot at our GopDem political process let's remember (as if we need to be reminded) that gas is over 4 bucks a gallon, the market ain't the best and people are having a tough time paying for groceries.

With all this and more going on here on Main Street USA, here are what seem to be the two main political issues.

1. Senator John McCain's service as a naval aviator, squadron commander and POW for 5 years in Vietnam doesn't qualify him to be POTUS.
Actually it does.

2. Barack Obama isn't a patriot because he doesn't wear an American flag pin.
Obama is a patriot. Is there anything more patriotic than running for President?

These issues aren't raised directly by candidates but by "surrogates."

Clowns and jokersare actually better terms. Folks like Wes Clark and Dick Morris hit the news talk show circuit and make these outragious claims. These clowns/jokers aren't free-lancing.

Everything they say is vetted by the campaigns. If there's flak, candidates can quickly distance themselves, even "denouncing" the garbage being spewed which they approved in the first place.

Wes Clark's outragious statement Sunday about John McCain is beneath contempt and the best he's going to get out of an Obama Presidency is being Ambassador to Zimbabwe. Dick Morris will just have to find a toe.

So that's pretty much the status of Campaign '08 so far. Clowns on the left and Jokers on the right.

And we're stuck in the middle.

Our GopDem political process.

There are too many clowns on the left and on the right. I would love to be ambassador to Zimbabwe - how can I gain consideration?

Too many pundits. Love to see most of them shut up.
