The debates are over. It's all over except for the voting. (And thanks to Acorn many will get to vote more than once!)
I have three different perspectives on the debates, following them three different ways.
Debate #1. I actually sat down and watched it. Frankly I can't remember a darn thing either candidate said.
Debate #2. I didn't watch it. I instead flipped around the channels afterwards to hear analysis by various pundits and media hangers on for their views. Near as I can figure out, both candidates won, both lost and both tied.
Debate #3. I listened to it on the radio. (I had no choice, I had to pick up some relatives at the airport.)
Listening on the radio, I think, is the best way to learn from a debate. I won't comment on who won, lost or tied. What I did learn is that it's not McCain/Palin vs Obama/Biden, but rather Pelosi/Obama.
Soon as I heard about government "Creating jobs, " (Only private enterprise does that) "Redistribution" (Take your money and give it someone else) and "Invest" (Liberal talk for spending) I thought I was listening to Speaker Pelosi with a deeper voice. Maybe she had a cold. She was very articulate however.
Here's the problem. The folks who founded our country created three distinct branches of government. Executive, (President) Legislative (Congress) and Judicial. (Federal Court System) The idea, and it was a good one, was to make sure that no one branch of government had too much power. They didn't want King George Version 2.0.
It worked great until we amended the Constitution in the early 1950's to term limit the President to two terms. Not so for the other two branches. So there is a growing imbalance in power in favor of Congress and the Courts.
Believe me, if Obama gets elected, he won't be able to go to the bathroom without Nancy Pelosi's permission. While not officially at the top of the ticket, she'll be running things.

And she'll spend, spend, spend until we take her T-Bird away.
Thursday Memo:
Next week I'll review the truly stupid Amendments on the Colorado Ballot this year. (There are so many to choose from) First up will be Amendment 50-aka The Sucker Bet.
