A political pundit said most of us live life between the 40 yard lines. I'm one of them. Most of the time. Sometimes I'm right of center, sometimes the other way around.

Borrowing from Peter to pay Peter

Paul will have to wait. Mary, you're out of luck.

Colorado is in the red to the tune of $250 million. Talk about sour notes. Governor Ritter plans to "borrow" the money from next year's budget to even out this year's budget.

Voo-Doo economics. Boo-Hoo.

This economic mess was long in the making. Caused in most part by companies like AIG, et al who also played such a role in the Democratic National Convention which was supposed to put Denver and Colorado on the map.

We were already on the map. Now there is word Colorado should bid for the Olympic Games.

That way instead of being $250 million in the red, we can be a billion in the red.

Of course we citizens want cuts. We also want good roads and our streets and highways plowed when it snows. Pass the cake please.

And we do want to keep the golden dome gleaming over the capitol. I think we should just paint it red.

Tough decisions need to be made. Governor Ritter knows this because he knows his job is on the line depending on decisions he makes.

Borrow from the future. Is this an innovative way for States to mimic the National Debt? Colorado spends now based on (supposed) revenue in a future time, thus (like the Federal govt.) indebting those of a future generation. (Next year, next decade, next anytime as long as it's NotInMyBackPresentTime.) Luvly.

Red would be better to go with the red ink.
