A political pundit said most of us live life between the 40 yard lines. I'm one of them. Most of the time. Sometimes I'm right of center, sometimes the other way around.

President's biggest challenge behind him

Not a bad speech last night sir. You had me right up to the point of "Public Option" and "Eliminating Waste."

Your biggest challenge however is behind you sir. You couldn't miss her. She was dressed in red. Speaker Pelosi who truly believes SHE is President of the United States. Even Hilary Clinton won't do that. By gum she admitted to being Secretary of State.

Madame Speak is going to try and ram the Public Option right up your wazoo. You say 5%, she's says 100. Let's call the whole thing off.

And there is no way that the 5% you claim would use the public option could sustain itself by premiums only.

Then there's eliminating waste as you call it. You mean the kind of waste like the $23 Billion we lent to Chrysler and GM? Word, officially is, we won't get a dime of it back. Not a dime.

Waste,

Then there's Cash for Clunkers. Dealers all over the country are still waiting for the million of dollars in rebates they were supposed to get in ten days, they've been waiting for over a month. No worries. The check is in the mail.

Waste.

Uh-oh, they're using the United States Postal Service to mail those checks, the same type of "company" you say the public option would be. The USPS is bleeding billions.
Mail will soon be five days a week instead of six. You know, rationing.

Waste.

Thusly, your speech about eliminating waste, was a waste of time.

But you almost had me there. Almost.

"Pelosi questions Afghan troop surge. The House speaker says she sees little support for sending more U.S. troops to Afghanistan, forecasting a potential showdown with the Obama administration." So says the recent headline on MSNBC.COM. Makes you wonder just WHO is running the country anyway?!

"Second, we've estimated that most of this plan can be paid for by finding savings within the existing health care system - a system that is currently full of waste and abuse. Right now, too much of the hard-earned savings and tax dollars we spend on health care doesn't make us healthier. That's not my judgment - it's the judgment of medical professionals across this country. And this is also true when it comes to Medicare and Medicaid." So we will fund a new government health program by cutting waste and abuse from previous government health programs? Riiiiight.

hear hear! but you forgot the heartwarming references to Uncle Teddy...
