As a junior in high school, I've been thinking about college (no surprise there), but how do I trust my instincts, when what I think sounds fun might not be so promising as a career?

Before my mom showed me this website, I was utterly confused - I didn't even know what a scholarship was or how to apply for one. This website showed me plenty of scholarships, some even for poetry, and soon enough, I was looking at a long list of topics I could major in, six of which I was really interested in: Animal Behavior, Animal Training, Creative Writing, Music, Personality Psychology, and Playwriting and Screenwriting.
My dad tells me my major should apply to something that makes a lot of money, so he most certainly does not supportmy ambition to work with animals for a living; but I think it's best that I find a way to compile my interests into a sensible living. Am I bananas or could this really work?
Any suggestions?
