Blog Entry 2 of 4 Recession Surfaces Colorado Dog Lovers as Cruel
You can see it in most neighborhoods, parks, and on bike trails: dogs. What you don't want to see are the senseless numbers of dogs in animal shelters and subsequent euthanizing of these animals. Promoting this unacceptable situation of irresponsibility towards "man's best friend" are Colorado dog owners who acquire these animals as things/objects of fun, status, and temporary companionship. Little thought seems to be given to caring for the animal and the time and money and decent living quarters required for proper care. This is all too evident in the current recession with increasing stories about abandoned dogs in the mountains and the increase (nationwide) of the dog population in our shelters. It's simple Colorado: dog lover one day, disposable object the next. Irresponsible dog ownership should be taken seriously whether it relates to ruining the peace and quiet of our neighborhoods, making our parks and pathways filthy, or resulting in the euthanizing of pets.

Dogs in Hospitals not Balloons
Contributed by: stan hrincevich   on 8/23/2008

Dog nuts have added another item to their list of being rude and disrespectful. You can now have dogs in a hospital, yes those animals that many people are allergic to and carry parasites. They seem to make some people happy at the expense of cleanliness and respect for others. No, patients should not have to tell nurses they don't want a dog visiting them. Patients entering a room previously occupied by a visiting dog and allergic to dog dander can havean adverse reaction. Hospitals now ban balloonsdue to allergies. You know the ones that make people feel happy. Why is this. Some people adversely respond to the powder or other chemicals in some balloons. Residuals from ballons previously in a room can also cause patient problems. The influenence of the dog nuts keeps infringing upon the health, safety, rights of others.
