Blog Entry 3 of 4 Recession Surfaces Colorado Dog Lovers as Cruel
You can see it in most neighborhoods, parks, and on bike trails: dogs. What you don't want to see are the senseless numbers of dogs in animal shelters and subsequent euthanizing of these animals. Promoting this unacceptable situation of irresponsibility towards "man's best friend" are Colorado dog owners who acquire these animals as things/objects of fun, status, and temporary companionship. Little thought seems to be given to caring for the animal and the time and money and decent living quarters required for proper care. This is all too evident in the current recession with increasing stories about abandoned dogs in the mountains and the increase (nationwide) of the dog population in our shelters. It's simple Colorado: dog lover one day, disposable object the next. Irresponsible dog ownership should be taken seriously whether it relates to ruining the peace and quiet of our neighborhoods, making our parks and pathways filthy, or resulting in the euthanizing of pets.

Cleanest lawns belong to dog owners: WHY?
Contributed by: stan hrincevich   on 9/4/2008

The cleanest lawns in my neighborhood belong to dog owners. Why you may ask. Simple. They always have their dog crap or urinate on someone else's lawn. If it is so nice and no problem and clean why don't dog owners have their pets urinate and crap on their lawns prior to taking them for a walk. They seem to enjoy the experience so much: the smell and all that goes with it. You ever watch these dog owners observe their dog taking a crap. They stand and stare in amazement. Yes, this Colorado and these dog nuts seem to have it their way. For the rest of us who are responsible dog owners and non-pet owners, we need to say something to these people to salvage our parks and lawns.
