Blog Entry 5 of 18 Parenting..Parenting...Parenting!
Anyone who has been a parent knows that it brings both great rewards and challenging moments. This is my take on the life of being a being a parent, most of that time a single parent.....my struggles, my successes and everything in between.

And then there was a little girl ...

So, where do I begin. The last eight months have been such a challenge. Such a time of reflection, and little time to write. Finally, as she grows, again I find the time to free my mind and slowly put sounds to words just as she does. Victoria Sierra is now six months old. My life has competely changed, and it is not from a mid life crisis!

Although at times I must admit I feel just as tired. I forgot how it was to wake in the middle of the night, and sleep for only two hours at a time. I find myself lost in her eyes, and lost in her amazement and wonder of the world. From finding her toes, to watching her smile and jump with excitement to see her daddy walk through the door.

She reminds me to laugh, to stop and smell the flowers, that smiling makes me happy. She makes me think that it does matter whether or not the ice caps melt, that family matters, that I need to eat healthy. She makes me want to be with her, to love her, to watch her sleep. She is untainted by our world. Here I was, almost done raising my big boys, and then ... like a burst of light ... there was a little girl.
