Blog Entry 1 of 20 Simple Can Be Best
There are moments in someone's life that just shouldn't be kept to themselves, rather shared with others for knowledge, wisdom, peace of mind or just a good laugh. I have experienced many things, yet still have a lot of living to do. But for now, these are my stories, a peek inside a life well lived so far - because simple can sometimes be best.

Have another cookie
Contributed by: Sarah Schneider   on 4/23/2007

At the top of her lungs she screams "I have chocolate cake at my desk if anyone wants some!" And yes, my mouth starts to salivate and I realize that everyday seems to be the same routine, a co-worker will bring in something so tantalizing that I can't resist, and pretty soon I'm chomping down on a 6 layer piece of chocolate cake at 10 in the morning.

I wake up everyday and say to myself - 'today is going to be better, I will not eat so many goodies - stick with the veggies and fruit.' But I got to tell you, carrots vs. cake?

My sweet-tooth and hunger seems to be a big monster that I can't defeat. Everyone tells me to drink water and lots of it for tons of reasons, but especially to feel full. So I drink and drink as my friend who sits only a few feet from me eats whatever may have made its way into the office that day.

Girl Scout cookie time really hit hard this year. The Do-si-dos and Thin Mints seem to find their way to my desk everyday around late afternoon. Temptation has always been a close friend of mine, yet self-control on the other hand is something I'd like to get more acquainted with.

The lure of a piece of chocolate cake, the smell of fresh baked cookes, the warm apple pie in my mouth, and before I know it half a bag of Oreo's are gone. I just don't know how to deal with this sweet tooth hunger that becomes me.

My friends and family tell me that the new weight I have gained means I'm truning into a women, getting curves and a shape finally, they say I use to be too thin. They also say I look good, but I'm not quite use to the "new shape of me" I guess. When I was younger I use to be able to eat whatever I wanted and in large portions. I never worried once about gaining weight, I remained a thin rail.

So now I move forward, and I feel like I'm on a mission - I joined the gym and it's me vs. the cookies, the carrots vs. the cake, and the pie vs. the water...
My co-workers also joined the gym with me, but somedays they are not very motivating for me. We all thought we could inspire eachother to get to the gym, however, I find myself being the inspiration. They usually want to go out to lunch, somdays they forget their gym bag, or brought only one tennis shoe with them (I'm not even going to touch that one ??). All I know is that I turned 26 and all of a sudden I got these hips I didn't want...so I guess I'll have another cookie.

I'm sorry I am just now getting around to responding. "Chocolate Fridays" that would be so hard for me, I would never be able to fit into any of my pants.

Hello, Sarah. Welcome to YourHub.com. Every Friday at the office we have "Chocolate Fridays" where someone brings in, well, chocolate for everyone to indulge in. I actually don't eat chocolate anymore, so it's not a big deal to me. But everyone here just loves it. I hope to read more blogs from you in the near future.
