Blog Entry 2 of 3 New 2 Area....HELP

Shocked ... impressed ... grateful ... lucky!
Contributed by: Shelby B   on 6/17/2007

Nearly two months ago I posted my very first blog on YourHub. My desperate plea for neighborly advice on our upcoming relocation from Dallas to the Denver area.

I was completely SHOCKED when I received the phone call from the YourHub staff wanting to publish the blog in the local newspaper. After the initial shock of having my desperate ramblings published for all the world to see wore off I became very IMPRESSED with the fact that a complete stranger wanted to reach out and help me and my family in this crazy chaotic time. I couldn't be more GRATEFUL that the YourHub staff reached out to me.

Since my blog circulated, I have received the most amazing advice from some extremely friendly, intelligent, impressive women. LUCKY for me and my family, I now know that I do NOT want a house at the bottom of a hill due to snow melting and potentially flooding the basement. Peak Athletics could very well be our new "cheer" home with their new recreational program in the works (I will be meeting with them next week! Keep your fingers crossed for me!!).

I have received referrals for pediatricians, dentists, dance studios, schools, activities for my girls, horseback riding and for the best places to dine! I've been given a business opportunity and have been invited to various different mommy group meetings as well. Above and beyond the great advice, though, I have met a couple of women who are quickly becoming friends and not just "blog buddies".

I can only anticipate that the outpouring of support I have received from everyone is indicative of how great the entire community is. We are looking forward to finally moving to the area and are much more prepared and educated now than we were "pre-blog" back in April. (It WILL stil be a total chaotic mess with a new baby and all but at least we are more CO educated now!) Thanks to EVERYONE who responded to that first desperate plea for help. Your kindness is deeply and sincerely appreciated!

Of course any advice anyone has to offer is still VERY welcomed! :)

Shelby, I know of a WONDERFUL real estate agent. Her name is Sukie Schroeder and she works with Remax Professionals right here in Highlands Ranch (they are the leader in Highlands Ranch real estate) she has been in business 35 years and is one of the top producers in her company. She is a relocation specialist and I know she would love to make your move here a very pleasant experience. Her website is www.sukie.net and her phone number is 303-791-2882. Kris
