Politics to life in general, a view from a slightly right of center/off-kilter guy.

Dems down to 1 1/2 candidates
Contributed by: Brian Olson   on 5/7/2008

And then there were one and a half. The Obama campaign had a great nightin North Carolina, giving Hillary Clinton an old-fashioned "whuppin'" and played to a virtual tie in Indiana. Hillary is still in the race, but only as 1/2 of a candidate.

Obama gave an acceptance speech, Clinton gave a warning that she's going to try and change the rules. Last fall Florida and Michigan were told not to mess with the system. They did and their votes won't be counted.

Not that Hillary won't try. As I've blogged before, she'll burn down the villagejust to run it. The DNC credentials committee meets May 31 to decide what to do with Florida and Michigan. While I believe they should still retain statehood, they broke the rules and should pay the consequences. The Clinton gang is also trying to blame Obama for this. Maybe if you lie about something enough, people will think it's true.

But the Clinton campaign, broke and without a chance in heck of winning the nomination fair and square, vows to fight on to the White House aka bitter end.How bitter? She's lending more of Bill's money to her campaign. Akin to buying stock in the White Star Line as the Titanic sank.

The most pathetic performance of the night however was given by Clinton supporter, confidant and butt-kisser, Lanny Davis. He thinks Clinton should be the nominee because despite trailing in total votes, delegates and states won, a poll shows her ahead of McCain.

May polls do not mean November wins.

Clinton is going to try and steal the election. But you can count on her phone ringing at all hours, including 3am, to call it a campaign.

You can also count on the mass exodus of super delegates to jump on the Obama bandwagon beginning this week. If not this second.

Her decision to fight on, or end her campaign, will finally let us know once and for all if HIllary Clinton cares more about herself and power, or the nation. I truly believe the former is true.

This is a very interesting year. I have never seen so many people interested in the campaign. Could be the lousy economy.
